Time ripe for jailing the corrupt, says Dahal
Nawalparasi, March 1
CPN-Maoist Centre Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal today emphasised that time had come to jail people who are corrupt in the bureaucracy, security forces, judiciary and other government agencies.
Addressing a programme organised by Families of Enforced Disappeared People and Martyrs at Bardaghat, Nawalparasi, Dahal warned that the left alliance government would imprison corrupt people.
Political change has come in the country, but change in people’s lives is yet to come, Dahal added. Noting that good governance was a must to usher in change in people’s lives, Dahal held that the left alliance government would clean up corruption that had become rampant in the security forces, judiciary and other government bodies.
Speaking at a joint press meet organised by Press Chautari and Press Centre Nawalparasi at Bardaghat, Maoist Chair Dahal said a merger between the two biggest communist parties would usher in development and change in the country. He expressed confidence that unification between the two parties would conclude in a matter of few days in line with the seven-point agreement. He expressed hope that unification between the UML and the Maoist Centre would take the country and people on the highway of prosperity and progress.
