KATHMANDU: A person died after a motorcycle he was riding on collided with a tipper in Buddha Bhumi Municipality-2 of Kapilvastu on Thursday.

The deceased has been identified as Bhakti Chaudhary (38) of Govardiya in Gadhawa Rural Municipality-3 of Dang district.

The tipper (Lu 2 Kha 1131) heading in a westward direction collided head-on with the ill-fated motorcycle (Lu 20 Pa 8606) injuring Chaudhary, in Badahara area along the East-West Highway yesterday, informed police.

Chaudhary was rushed to the Butwal-based Lumbini Zonal Hospital where he succumbed to his injuries during the course of treatment on Thursday evening, according to Sub Inspector Thaman Khatri at the Gorusinghe-based Area Police Office.

Meanwhile, police have impounded the vehicle and detained the driver for further investigation, said police.
