Tipsy headmaster brings classes to a halt
Dhading, August 8:
An alcoholic headmaster and lack of teachers have been leading to the disruption of classes in a school in Dhading, locals said.
Guardians prevented headmaster of the Goganpani VDC-7-based Himalchuli Primary School situated, Ram Bahadur Kamar, from coming to the school after Kamar began misbehaving with students under the influence of alcohol. Another teacher of the school, who had taken leave, has not joined his duties yet.
The Management Committee of the school has been urging the resource centre and the District Education Office to send teachers, Ram Chandra Rupakheti, a guardian, said.
Locals said headmaster Kamar was reprimanded a year ago as well for coming to school in an inebriated condition and disrupting classes. The management committee of the school added it would be compelled to take stern action against the headmaster if he did not mend his ways.
“Teachers are supposed to be a role model. What would children learn if they began coming to school drunk,” Rupakheti said.
