TMDP to decide on Wednesday

KATHMANDU: The Tarai Madhes Democratic Party has yet to decide whether to join the new government led by senior CPN-UML leader Madhav Kumar Nepal, though it has already decided to fully support and cooperate with the new government.

TMDP has scheduled its central working committee meeting on Wednesday to take the final decision on whether or not to join the new government.

TMDP Chairman Mahantha Thakur is busy consulting central committee members, heads of party's district chapters and sister organisations on the issue.

TMDP had also held an informal meeting of the central committee yesterday to dwell on the issue.

Speaking to this daily, senior TMDP leader Sarbindra Nath Shukla said, "Central working committee will take the final decision after thoroughly consulting all our party leaders."

Shukla added that they were fully committed to the stability and success of the new government. "There is a need to review all the past agreements before deciding to join the new government," he added.
