Kathmandu, March 16:

The Special Committee on supervision, rehabilitation and integration of the Maoist combatants today finalised the Terms of References (ToR) of a technical committee, which will assist the Special Committee on specified areas.

The technical committee will consist of eight members. Unified CPN-Maoist, Nepali Congress, CPN-UML and Madhesi Janaadhikar Forum, which have members in the special committee, will suggest names to be included in the technical committee on Wednesday.

Special Committee spokesperson and chief secretary Dr Bhojraj Ghimire told mediapersons at the end of committee meeting that the technical committee would comprise of experts. Secretariat of the technical committee will be set up at the Ministry of Peace and Reconstruction.

Dr Mohammad Habibullah, one of the members of the Special Committee, told this daily that the technical committee would also seek expertise of UNMIN and UNDP in the rehabilitation and integration process of the Maoist combatants living in UNMIN-monitored camps.

The technical committee will develop the modality of integration and rehabilitation of the combatants.
