Tourism Board promotes Nepal at Delhi travel and tourism fair

New Delhi, February 14:

The 70th Travel and Tourism Fair and Outbound Travel Mart, India’s mega tourism event that was organised by the Fairfest Media Ltd, a private company of India , concluded here today.

Nepal Tourism Board, Nepal’s national tourism organisation, was among 200 travel and tourism organisations from 25 countries that participated in the three-day fair.

“Both the exhibitors and visitors are happy with the outcome of the event,” said Sneha Agrawal, Advertising Executive of TTF and OTM. “Many of the visitors to the fair were travel and tour operators,” she added.

“The event helped us to familiarise our products among Delhites. They can easily visit our country but many of them were unaware of the direct flights between Delhi to Kathmandu,” said Sunil Sharma, Planning Manager, NTB.

He said many visitors were interested to know about the air connectivity between New Delhi and Kathmandu and other destinations in Nepal. “Some visitors asked us to open an office in Delhi,” Sharma said. India is the largest contributor to Nepal’s tourism industry. Thirty per cent of the total visitors, who visit Nepal, are Indians.

“We are basically concerned to promote our products as such events certainly help grow the country’s tourism business,” Sharma added.
