KATHMANDU: Vice-President Nanda Bahadur Pun has said that tourism sector would play significant role in the economic prosperity of Nepal.

Speaking on the occasion of the third anniversary of the Shikhar Post Media in Kathmandu, on Wednesday, VP Pun stressed the need of paying attention towards tourism promotion. He further said development in the country was not possible without tourism promotion.

He also said that the private sector should take initiatives for the development of tourism sector.

VP Pun accepted that the development projects have not taken momentum due to lack of state's attention and expressed optimism that the face of the nation would be changed within next 10 years.

Similarly, Chairman of the Trekking Agencies Association of Nepal (TAAN), Chandra Rijal, said that the government should collaborate and support the private while investing in the tourism sector.

Likewise, Chief Editor of the Shikhar Post Media, Prakash Khaling, said media would play a significant role in the economic prosperity of the nation.
