KATHMANDU, FEBRUARY 26

Tourist vehicles will require prior permission to operate on March 5, the day of the House of Representatives election.

As per the 'Procedure Related to Operation of Vehicles–2082' issued by the Election Commission Nepal, tourist transport operators must obtain approval at least two days before election day from the concerned District Administration Office and the Election Commission in Kathmandu.

Spokesperson Narayan Prasad Bhattarai said the provision ensures smooth movement of tourists as international flights will continue as scheduled on election day.

Vehicles providing essential services, diplomatic missions and the National Human Rights Commission may also operate with required permits, while other vehicles must secure authorisation to ply on highways.
