Tourists arrival up in Tatopani Kunda

Arrival of domestic and international tourists has increased with the onset of the tourist season, in Manang.

Tourists have been enjoying hot spring bath in Tatopani Kunda at Chame Rural Municipality of the district. Chame Rural Municipality Chairman Lokendra Bahadur Ghale said Tatopani Kunda was one of the centres of attraction in the district. Ghale added that around 400 domestic and international tourists have been taking bath in the Kunda on a daily basis.

DSP Tika Bahadur Karki at Manang District Police Office, said people could take bath and were also allowed to wash their clothes in the hot spring.

Tatopani Kunda is 65 kilometres away from Besisahar, the headquarters of Lamjung district. Tatopani Kunda is five to six hours of jeep ride from Besisahar.

Chairman Ghale said Tatapani Kunda was well managed for taking bath and washing clothes.

He said the rural municipality has been looking after the management part of the kunda with the objective of promoting tourism in the area.

Tatopani Reconstruction and Management Committee Chair Melina Gurung said domestic and international tourists, along with locals have been visiting Tatopani Kunda for taking bath. “Tatopani Kunda has been witnessing an increase in the number of tourists after the management committee started work to promote it,” Gurung added.
