KATHMANDU, SEPTEMBER 28
Ramaroshan, a tourist destination in Achham, is currently hosting tourists from 46 different countries.
These tourists have gathered here as part of a group known as the World Rainbow Family, intending to explore Ramaroshan over a three-month period.
During their visit, the tourists actively engaged in various cultural activities, including a Deuda dance, which were organized by the Tourism Sector Development Committee in celebration of World Tourism Day. Man Bahadur Saud, the chairperson of the rural municipality, warmly welcomed the tourists and noted that their influx has significantly boosted the village's publicity.
It's worth mentioning that these foreign tourists have been granted permission to visit Ramaroshan without any specific conditions. They are currently residing in open tents as they explore the area.
Ramaroshan derives its name from two legends. Some say it was named after two brothers, Rame and Roshan, while others believe it was named Ramaroshan because it was once the dwelling place of Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvati.
Ramaroshan Lake, situated in Ramaroshan Rural Municipality-6, is also known as 'Barha Banda, Aathara Khanda,' where 'Barha Banda' signifies 12 lakes and 'Aathara Khanda' represents 18 meadows.
The alpine meadows adorned with blooming flowers are one of the main attractions of Ramaroshan. The area is also home to diverse wildlife, including lophophorus and crimson horned pheasants, musk deer, and Himalayan tahr.
