Traffic blocked along Narayangadh-Mugling road for 4 hours every day

CHITWAN: The everyday vehicular movement along the Narayangadh-Mugling road section in Chitwan district would be obstructed for four hours every day for expansion, from February 11.

Earlier, a meeting of various stakeholders at the Chitwan District Administration Office on January 3 had decided to obstruct the road for two hours every day. However, after finding difficulties in that time frame, a new decision was taken to extend the restriction for four hours, stated Engineer Shiva Khanal.

Accordingly, the road would be closed for four hours from 11 am to 3 pm every day, informed Khanal.

Khanal said it was necessary to block the traffic for four hours to widen some road sections which are just five metres wide currently.

While the vehicles coming from Pokhara or Kathmandu sides would be stopped in Mugling and those coming from the East-West Highway would be stopped in Ram Nagar during the expansion drive.

Khanal said the vehicles leaving Kathmandu had been requested to go along the Prithvi Highway and the Siddhartha Highway for the west and the Tribhuvan Highway for the east.

The project has set a deadline of 2017 April for completion of expansion campaign.
