Authorities have announced partial traffic restrictions along the Tuin Khola section of the Narayangarh-Muglin road from Monday, as excavation work for the Tuin Khola project is being carried out while the Krishna Bhir section of the Muglin-Kathmandu road remains closed.
The District Administration Office, Chitwan, said traffic would be stopped at the Tuin Khola section for two-hour periods, with a 30-minute window for vehicles to pass between each closure.
Under the schedule, traffic will be halted from 6am to 8am, 8:30am to 10:30am, 11am to 1pm, 1:30pm to 3:30pm and 4pm to 6pm.
Vehicles will be allowed to pass from 8am to 8:30am, 10:30am to 11am, 1pm to 1:30pm and 3:30pm to 4pm. Traffic will remain open from 6pm onwards.
The administration said the restrictions would remain in place until repair work at Krishna Bhir is completed and traffic resumes along the section.
The decision was taken as traffic on the Narayangarh-Muglin road has declined following the closure of the Krishna Bhir section. Authorities said carrying out excavation work at Tuin Khola during the period would minimise disruption to road users.
The District Administration Office has urged motorists to plan their journeys according to the schedule.
