Training on child clubs capacity building
KATHMANDU: Consortium-Nepal, a network of organisations working for child participation, trained child rights organisations of Far-Western and Mid-Western regions of Nepal in capacity building of child clubs and life skills education.
The Capacity Building of Child Clubs training of trainers prgroamme began in Dhangadhi of Kailali on Tuesday.
Prakash Koirala and Nirijana Bhatta are providing training to as many as 30 representatives of child rights organisations.
Participants of the training are expected to train child club members at local level, according to the organisation. They would also deliver psychological support to their peers who are vulnerable to and victims of abuse and other difficult situations.
The United Nations Children Fund has provided support to the event.
According to Saroj Acharya, Acting Programme Manager of Consortium-Nepal, the programme was organised as many school children felt that life skills education was equally important for them along with academic curricula.
"Consortium-Nepal collaborates with and partners organisations across regions and sectors to ensure meaningful participation of children from family to the state level," he added.
The training will conclude on coming Saturday, February 20.
