Transaction of Rs 20 million in Nuwakot festival

TRISHULI, NUWAKOT: The fifth Nuwakot festival organised recently has made transaction of Rs 20 million. The 12-day festival was organised at Bidur with the slogan of 'Prosperous Nuwakot: Our Resolution'.

During the concluding session of the festival on Sunday, Nepali Congress central member and lawmaker Bahadur Singh Lama hoped the festival would propel economic and commercial activities in the district. It was also said that such festival could promote religious and cultural tourism.

Chief of the District Coordination Committee, Santa Man Tamang, said a means of economic prosperity could be sought through the festival.

Nuwakot Chamber of Commerce has informed that the festival made the transaction worth Rs 20 million and was visited by 100,000 people.

Chamber Chairman Tara Bahadur Karki said the festival was organised to promote the local products. According to him, handicrafts and agricultural products were sold the most in the festival.

Even artists from different sectors had performed during the festival.
