BAJURA, NOVEMBER 14
Transportation service resumed today in Martadi of Bajura after five months.
The Sanphe-Martadi road section was damaged for the last five months due to rainfall.
According to Bajura District Administration Office, the service resumed after the rains stopped. Buses will be leaving for their destinations from Martadi from tomorrow.
Transportation service was halted for three years due to landslides at Baldhe in Budhiganga Municipality.
Jeeps and tractors, among other vehicles, started plying some days ago, but buses resumed their service from today.
The locals used to ride bus at Bamka, Baldhe, and Betalmandu earlier. The road section was obstructed for three years when the road from Balde to Dwari was destroyed.
Civil Society leader Sher Bahadur Shahi said that the authority concerned had paid no attention even though it was informed.
He said people were compelled to travel through the risky road at Barjugard, Taprisera, Baldhe, and Paninaula, among other places. "There is no other option but to search for an alternative road," he added.
Locals in the northern part of Bajura, Humla and Mugu have been facing problems].
They have had to face scarcity of food materials.
