Transporters hold talks with govt
Kathmandu, July 1:
A delegation of the Federation Truck, Tanker and Transport Entrepreneurs’ Nepal (FTTTEN) today held informal talks with the government following the direction of Home Minister Krishna Prasad Sitaula to address an impending transport crisis.
During the one-hour-long talks, the team led by Home Secretary Umesh Mainali took note of all demands put forth by the FTTTEN, said Shree Chandra Sharma, general secretary of the federation.
Once the Home Minister returns to the capital, the Home Ministry will form a task force to solve problems of the transporters, Sharma quoted Mainali as saying.
The federation said it will not call a halt to its agitation. “We have demanded that the government pledge in black and white to meet our demands,” he said.
The ministry has assured the delegation that the federation will be invited for formal talks very soon, Sharma said.
