JAJARKOT: A girl was killed and her sister was seriously injured after a tree fell on them during a storm at Kuse Rural Municipality-4 in Jajarkot district on Thursday evening.

The deceased has been identified as Ramita Shahi (12), seventh grader at a local school, and the injured as Pashupati Shahi (15).

Police said both the sisters were critically injured after they were hit by the falling tree when were returning home after buying textbooks from a nearby market.

They were being taken to a local health post but the younger sister breathed her last on the way.
