Twenty-one voting centres ‘highly sensitive’ in Kavre

Twenty-one voting centres in Kavre have been categorised as highly sensitive from the security point of view for the second round of provincial and parliamentary polls.

Voting centres of Mahabharatpari and Koshipari in the district have been identified as highly sensitive. SP Shahakul Thapa at District Police Office said they had planned to deploy security personnel under the command of a senior officer in highly sensitive areas. As many as 65 voting centres have been identified as sensitive in the district. As per District Police Office, Kavre, a police team has been deployed to arrest those involved in anti-election activities.

Police said they had arrested three district leaders of Netra Bikram Chand-led Communist Party of Nepal for their alleged involvement in anti-election activities. The arrested have been identified as Dilli Prasad Dulal, Bhimsen Gautam of Chauri Deurali Rural Municipality and Raj Kumar Tamang of Banepa Municipality. Investigation is under way as public offense cases have been filed against the arrested, said police.

As many as 673 Nepal Police and 1,516 temporary police have been deployed to hold the second round of provincial and parliamentary elections in free, fair and fearless manner in the district.Each voting centre will have three Nepal Police and six temporary police personnel.
