RAUTAHAT, JANUARY 13

Two people were arrested with 1,260 capsules of banned narcotic Tramadol in Basir Chowk, Paraha Municipality, by the Armed Police Force (APF), who handed them over to the Nepal Police for further investigation.

The Rautahat District Police Office said a joint team from APF BOP Sarmujwa and Motipur Narkatiya Police Post stopped a motorcycle with Indian registration no. BR 05 BL 8846 and recovered the drugs during a body check of the riders.

The arrested have been identified as 30-year-old Shikhar Bahadur Pulami from Nijgadh Municipality-7, Bara, and 29-year-old Golu (Naitik Kumar) from Ghodashahan Kabiya-6, East Champaran, Bihar, India.

Along with the Tramadol capsules, authorities seized three mobile phones, Rs 36,000 in cash, and the motorcycle used in the transit.

DSP Bishnu Pradip Basyal, Information Officer of Rautahat Police, said both suspects are under investigation under the Narcotic Drugs (Control) Act, and the Rautahat court has granted the police necessary time for further inquiry.
