Jhapa, May 27

Two employees of Vocational Skill Development Office, Bhadrapur, were arrested with a bribe of Rs 35,000 today morning.

A team deployed from the Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority Regional Office, Itahari, had nabbed office chief Sumendra Mandal and first class non-gazetted officer Raj Kumar Dhimal with bribe money from their office.

Inspector Rajan Karki said they had arrested Mandal and Dhimal and seized the bribe money they had received as commission.

The two were under the CIAA’s radar as they had been accused of seeking commission for selecting organisations and training venues.

A service seeker, who came to receive a cheque of Rs one lakh for holding a training on electric wiring in Khajurgachhi, had handed over Rs 35,000 in cash to Mandal and Dhimal today morning. The duo was held shortly after receiving the bribe money.
