Two die in clash over property

Two sons of a family died when a land dispute between their families took a violent turn at Kalapani in Tribeni Municipality, Bajura, today.
The incident occurred in a land dispute between the families of Mohan Giri and his younger brother Gorakh Giri.
The deceased have been identified as Arjun Giri, 32, and Naule Giri, 27, of the municipality. They were the sons of Mohan Giri. Police said Naule died on the spot after being attacked with a khukuri while Arjun breathed his last on the way to the Achham-based Bayalgada health facility.
Mohan was injured in the incident and is receiving treatment at a local health facility, said police.
Meanwhile, police arrested Gorakh Giri, 50, and his sons—Yogendra, 20, and Dinesh, 16, for their alleged involvement in the incident. Police seized khukuris and other domestic weapons from the incident site.
Inspector Jagadis Bhatta at District Police Office, Bajura, said, Ganesh Giri, a relative of Gorakh was also arrested from Martadi suspecting his involved in the case. Bhatta said investigation into the incident was under way. Preparation to bring the bodies to the district headquarters Martadi for postmortem is under way, said police. Locals said altercations between two brothers over the land were frequent in the past.
