Two held for extortion bid with threat to bomb school in Rautahat
RAUTAHAT: Nepal Police said they have arrested two persons who allegedly threatened to blow up a local school if they were not paid Rs 5 million.
Suspects are identified as Munna Kumar Yadav (27) of Mudbalawa and Awadh Lal Mahato (39) of Bagahi of the district.
The duo used several mobile numbers to call and send text messages to Ravishankar Yadav, the headmaster of Nemdhari Basudev Higher Secondary School in Mudbalawa, claiming that they were members of a criminal gang operating in Nepal and India while demanding the fortune.
They had started intimidating the headmaster on August 21, saying he would be killed if he told others about their demand.
Police said the suspects were arrested on August 30.
Police paraded them at the District Police Office in Gaur after today.
They were presented before the Rautahat District Court and remanded in custody.
