Two persons were arrested with a pistol and bullets in Morang yesterday. Ganesh Limbu, 59, of Devijhoda, Kerabari Rural Municipality, and Padam Kumar Limbu, 41, of Lalbhitti, Balbari Municipality, were arrested by a police team from Belbari Area Police Office.
According to police, they found a pistol and bullets from Ganesh Limbu's Devijhoda-based house last evening. Police found a pistol and bullets, five 303 rifle bullets and two bullet loading tools when they carried out the raid on Limbu's house at about 5:30pm. The gun and ammunition were hidden in the kitchen. Similarly, according to Inspector Saroj Khanal, police also found a khukuri and a knife from a car parked in the front yard of Limbu's house.
The car was identified as belonging to Padam Kumar Limbu, 41, of Lalbhitti.
Police have said the Limbu duo is in police custody and investigation has begun. "As to where they brought the ammunition from and for what purpose will be revealed following the investigation," the inspector said, adding that police had followed the two persons acting on complains that the Limbu duo used to terrorise locals showing the weapons.
