Two Indian men held with marijuana from Hetaunda

HETAUNDA: Makawanpur police have arrested two Indian nationals for their suspected involvement in the smuggling of marijuana, from Hetaunda on Monday.

The 28-year-old Rajesh Prasad Koiri of Mujaffarpur and 55-year-old Ramu Sahani of Motihari in India were arrested with the illegal cache in the wee hours today.

Acting on a tip-off, the police had intercepted a gas bullet (HR 63 C 8073) and seized as many as 13 packets of marijuana, weighing 125 kg each, from the driver's compartment.

Police have also seized Rs 100,000 from Sahani.

According to Superintendent of Police Basanta Kumar Lama of the Makawanpur District Police Office, Koiri had been involved in similar cases earlier as well.

He had managed to escape police's grip for six times.

Police are investigating further into the case.
