KATHMANDU, DECEMBER 6

Two people died, and four others sustained injuries when a scrap godown located at Saatghumti in Biratnagar-7 caught fire on Wednesday afternoon.

One of the deceased has been identified as Dipak Mandal, 40, of Biratnagar-6, while the identity of the second person is yet to be ascertained, according to Deputy Superintendent of Police at the District Police Office, Morang, Ranjan Kumar Dahal. Mandal was the owner of the scrap godown.

Similarly, Sushila Paswan, 65, Rita Sardar, 60, Kishor Paswan, 58, of Biratnagar-6, and Pinky Kamat, 30, of Katahari rural municipality were injured in the incident.

Sushila and Rita have sustained critical injuries. All the injured are undergoing treatment at Neuro Hospital and Koshi Hospital in Biratnagar.

The fire was extinguished with the help of six fire engines, police personnel, and locals, shared Dahal."
