CHANDRAUTA, JANUARY 4
Two persons died while four others sustained injuries after the tractor they were travelling on skidded off the road in Buddhabhumi Municipality-3 of Kapilvastu this morning.
According to the Area Police Office in Gorusinge, the deceased have been identified as Shiva Kumari Tharu, 48, and Phool Kumari Tharu, 16, of Buddhabhumi Municipality-3.
The accident occurred when the tractor (Lu 4 Ta 2402) ferrying labourers lost control and slid some 20 meters off the road in Rangain, killing two on the spot and injuring four others.
Balram Sunar, Krishna BK, Sarita Tharu, and Seema Tharu were injured in the event and are being treated at various hospitals.
Police Inspector Leelaram Acharya at the Area Police Office, Gorusinge, said that the tractor may have been involved in an accident owing to excessive speed.
Further investigation into the incident is underway, added police.
