Two killed in Kavre tipper-jeep collision
KATHMANDU: Two persons were killed and eight others were injured when a tipper collided with a jeep at Basdol Mode, Bhainsepati along the Araniko Highway of Kavre district, on Sunday.
The deceased have been identified as Madan Shrestha (35) of Madhumalla VDC-6 in Morang district and Nilam Karki (41) of Doramari Municipality-6 in Jhapa district. They died on the spot, police said.
The incident occurred when the tipper (Ba 4 Cha 3554) heading towards Banepa from Kathmandu collided with the Sumo jeep (Me 1 Ja 2191) en route to Kathmandu from Sindhuli at around 4:30 am this morning.
The jeep driver Binod Bagdad (24) was also injured in the incident.
All the injured are being treated at the Scheer Memorial Hospital in Banepa.
Police are in search of the tipper driver who fled the scene after the incident.
