Two killed in exchange of fire between police, Biplav-led CPN cadres

BHOJPUR: Two persons died and others sustained injuries when police exchanged fire with the cadres of Netra Bikram Chand (Biplav)-led Communist Party of Nepal (CPN) in Bhojpur district headquarters today morning.

The deceased have been identified as Police Constable Sanjeev Rai and CPN Okhaldhunga in-charge Nara Bahadur Rai.

According to Bhojpur Chief District Office (CDO) Nur HariĀ  Khatiwada, police exchanged fire with CPN cadres after Rai shot at police, at Shanibare Hatiya, a space for the weekly open-air fair in Bhojpur, at around 8:30 am today.

Police are yet to establish details of the casualty figures, Bhojpur District Police Office informed.
