Two killed in road mishap
Nawalparasi, June 27:
Two persons were killed and six hurt when a truck on way to Butwal from Narayanghat hit an ambulance at Rambapur in Nawalparasi district’s Sunaul last night.
According to police inspector at Sunaul police post Kumar Shrestha, 56-year-old Pashupati Chaudhary and 35-year-old Binesh Chaudhary of Dang Sonapur VDC-1, who were in the ambulance, were killed in the mishap. The ambulance belonging to the Medical College Bhairahawa was on its way to Dang from Kathmandu.
The injured, including the ambulance driver, were admitted to Lumbini zonal hospital.
Police inspector Shrestha said the truck driver had been taken into custody.
In another mishap, 16 passengers were hurt when a Makalu Yatayat bus met with an accident near Bhanwara river at Nijgarh-1 along the east-west Mahendra Highway this morning in Bara.
According to Nijgarh area police office, 60-year-old Rama Devi Singh, who hailed from Kathmandu, was rushed to Kathmandu in critical condition. Others were undergoing treatment at a local clinic.
