JHAPA: Two people were killed when a motorcycle collided with a bus at Ramchok of Birtamod in the district on Sunday.

The deceased have been identified as Raju Acharya (31) of Dharmapur-6 and Pukar Giri (33) of Birtamod, informed the Jhapa District Traffic Police Office.

Motorcyclist Acharya breathed his last yesterday while pillion rider Giri had been rushed to the Birtamod-based B&B Hospital for treatment. Giri, however, succumbed to his injuries today, informed police.

Police said the accident took place when the motorcycle (Ko 9 Pa 6849) collided with the bus (Me 1 Kha 1906) travelling from the opposite direction.
