At least two persons died and nine others sustained injuries in separate road accidents in different parts of the country on Saturday and Sunday.

Pillion rider Rabi Mehattar died when the motorcycle he was riding met with an accident at Panchkilo along Rajbiraj-Rupani road section in Saptari on Sunday. He died while being rushed to Sagarmatha Zonal Hospital for treatment.

Another injured, who has been receiving treatment at the same health facility, has yet to be identified.

Similarly, 16-year-old Anju Choudhary of Bardaghat died while four others sustained injuries after the tractor they were riding met with an accident at Daunne of Nawalparasi on Saturday. She breathed her last at Lumbini Zonal Hospital Butwal.

The tractor driver has been absconding after the incident.

In another incident, Assistant Police Inspector Nawami Tajpuriya of Doriya Police Post sustained injuries when the motorbike he was riding met with an accident at Jhurkiya, Morang on Saturday evening.

He has sustained injuries to his nose, head and legs, and is receiving treatment at a local health facility.

In yet another incident, at least three persons, including a pedestrian sustained injuries when a scooter hit them at Bayarban of Morang on Saturday evening.
