BHOJPUR: Two persons died and three others were seriously injured in two accidents along the East-West Highway in Morang district on Thursday.

According to Area Police Office of Belabari, a motorcyclist and a pillion rider died after the bus (Me 1 Kha 1857) heading toward east from west hit a motorcycle (Na 22 Pa 6849) in Kohsi Haraicha of Morang.

The unidentified motorcyclist and pillion rider Bimala Rai (28) of Homtang-6 breathed their last while receiving treatment at the BP Koirala Institute of Health Sciences in Dharan, informed police.

The bus and the driver are under the custody of police for further investigation.

In another accident, three people were severely injured when a scooter (Ko18 Pa 2274) collided with a cart coming from the opposite direction while overtaking the truck in Sundadulari-10.

The severely injured Som Rajbansi (22) and Kanaya Gupta (15) of Itharai Municipality-3 and the cart puller Kushiha Chaudhari (60) of Khanar -2 are receiving treatment at Birat Nursing Home in Biratnagar, informed police.
