Two killed, two injured in separate far-west accidents

DHANGADHI: Two persons died while two others sustained injuries in separate accidents in Far-western Region of Nepal on Thursday.

According to police, a motorcyclist, identified as Mohan Raj Bhatta of Dhangadhi-2 in Kailali district succumbed to injuries after being hit by a truck (Na 1 Kha 5687) in Boradadhi of Kailali district.

The truck had hit the motorbike (Se 2 Pa 1871) after Bhatta lost control over the two-wheeler. He breathed his last while undergoing treatment at the Seti Regional Hospital.

Police have impounded the vehicle and arrested truck driver, Amrit Chaudhary of Lalpur-7 for further investigation.

Likewise, a pedestrian, identified as Umesh Joshi, was killed after being hit by a tractor (Se 1 Ta 6990). The tractor was heading towards Chainpur from Bajhang, informed Attariya Area Police Office.

Similarly, police said two persons were injured after the motorbike they were riding on met with an accident in Phulbari of Kailali district.

The injured have been identified as spokesperson of Tharuhat/Tharuban Struggle Committee Madhav Tharu and Dhiraj Chaudhary of Bardiya.

Tharu was initially taken to Kohalpur Teaching Hospital and is later referred to Kathmandu for further treatment while Chaudhary is being treated at Seti Regional hospital.

Tharu is said to have suffered multiple injuries.
