Around two lakh devotees took holy dip in the Koshi river on the occasion of Poush Shukta Poornima today. The Maithili community celebrates this day as Pousi Poornima.

Thousands of devotees from different cities of India had gathered on the banks of the Koshi river since last night to take holy dip this morning. According to religious belief, a bath on the occasion of Poush Shukta Poorinima in the Koshi river washes away all sins of the bather.
