ROLPA: Two minors of the same family have been murdered in Triveni Rural Municipality-2 of Rolpa district on Monday night.

The deceased have been identified as five-year-old Prem BK and three-year-old Basanti BK. They are the son and daughter of Ganesh BK of the rural municipality.

According to the Rolpa District Police Office, Khadka Bahadur BK (21) of the same village had murdered the minors by attacking them with an axe.

Deputy Superintendent of Police, Gyanendra Phunyal said that police have arrested Khadka Bahadur on Monday night itself.

It has been learnt that the accused is the uncle of the deceased children; he would often argue with his brother and had also recently done so. The neighbours also said that the accused would get involved in arguments in the village.

Further investigation into the case is underway, said police.
