Two Nepali women rescued from India

KATHMANDU: Maiti Nepal's office in India rescued two Nepali women from being forced into prostitution when they were about to be sold in New Delhi, India.

Both women, 25 years of age, from Kavrepalanchok and Jhapa districts, were allegedly trafficked by being lured with high-paid jobs, stated Maiti Nepal's India branch.

According to Sita Adhikari, Maiti Nepal's India branch office trustee, the women were rescued with the help of Nepali Embassy in New Delhi, New Delhi Police and a social worker Bal Krishna Pandey. The women were taken to India via Kathmandu and Birgunj, added Adhikari.

Rescued women are being brought to Nepal today, informed Adhikari.
