JAJARKOT: Jajarkot police arrested two persons for their involvement in raping a 14-year-old girl, on Saturday.

The arrestees have been identified Padam Mahar (22) and Bishwo Thapa (20) of Jhapra.

The minor, who reportedly cannot speak, was raped by the accused while she was returning home from a festival on Wednesday.

The family of the victim had lodged a case against them at the Jajarkot District Police Office, on Friday.

The duo would be charged for gang rape, raping a minor and raping a differently abled child, Police Inspector Hikmat Bohora of the DPO informed.

According to the family, the victim was walking with some of her friends. But, they ran away when the incident occurred, police added.

The girl is currently being treated at the District Hospital.
