Two die in Nawalparasi accidents

NAWALPARASI: Police reported two cases of death in road accidents at assorted locations of Nawalparasi district on Monday morning.

According to police, Mahendra Budha, a local of Pipara in Surkhet district, was injured on Sunday night when a pickup van (Ga 2 Cha 54) hit him at Badera, Sunawal Municipality-12 along the East-West Highway.

Budha, who appeared to be in his late teens, was an assistant of the driver of the bus (Na 5 Kha 3836), which was parked nearby during the incident.

Seriously injured Budha was rushed to Lumbini Zonal Hospital, Butwal, but he breathed his last this morning while undergoing treatment.

In the similar incident, Ravi Lal Paudel (52), was hit by a motorcycle (Na 20 Pa 4251) at Harkapur, Gaindakot-12 along the East-West Highway on Sunday night.

Paudel, a local resident, was riding on his bicycle when the incident occurred, said police.

Paudel was rushed to a hospital in Bharatpur of Chitwan. However, he succumbed to his injuries this morning.

Police have impounded the motorcycle and the pickup van and arrested rider and driver of the respective vehicles.
