Two persons including a minor injured in Pokhara paragliding accident

POKHARA: Two persons including a Singaporean tourist were injured in a paragliding accident near Phewa lake in Pokhara Metropolitan City, on Tuesday, police said.

The incident occurred after fifty-year-old pilot Ales Wkrien from Ukraine and seven-year-old boy Yanggfua Ngze came into contact with an electric wire while making touchdown attempt near Khapaudi in the Lake City today.

Kaski District Police Office Spokesperson Rabindra Man Gurung said the injured persons have been undergoing treatment at Pokhara-based Manipal Teaching Hospital. "They are in critical condition."

According to police, the duos had taken off from Sarangkot in an ill-fated paraglider operated by Open Sky Paragliding Company before the incident.

Meanwhile, an investigation is underway, Gurung added.
