Two persons involved in robbery made public

Chitwan police made public two persons arrested on the charge of attacking and robbing ornaments from a family at Dibyanagar of Bharatpur Metropolitan City.

Organising a press meet at District Police Office Chitwan, police paraded Laxman Pariyar, 21, and Narayan BK, 20. Pariyar and BK were held by police in the last two days from different places.

Superintendent of Police Dipak Thapa said that police had recovered Rs 83,140 in cash, one pistol, six rounds of bullets and a knife from them. Krishna Shahi, 25, who was also involved in the robbery is absconding. “A manhunt to nab Shahi is on,” SP Thapa said.

A group of three men had barged into the house of Ganga Sagar Mahato, 32, in Dibyanagar, attacked his family members, and made off with ornaments and cash two months ago.

Ganga Sagar was critically injured as he was shot on his temple. His mother Sahuni and wife Ram Kumari were  badly beaten up in the incident.

Ganga Sagar died while undergoing treatment. Sahuni and Ram Kumari, however, returned home after treatment.
