RAUTAHAT: Two policemen died in a motorbike accident after the two-wheeler they were riding on hit a boar, in Bara district on Sunday night.

Police Constable duo Govinda Rana (30) from Dumarwana, Gadhimai Municipality of Bara district and Sagar Gurung (25) from Bhulichok-5 of Gorkha district died in the accident in Pathalaiya-Nijgadh road section of the East-West Highway, police said.

Simara Area Police Office said the Pulsar bike, of which the registration number is not identified yet, had hit the wild animal while it was crossing the road at around 8:30 pm.

Following the hit, the bike fell down, killing the duo.

Police Inspector Purushottam Khadka said the duo were rushed to a nearby hospital, but were declared dead on arrival.

The wild animal also died in the accident.
