Two RJP-N leaders sent to jail for fraud

Two Rastriya Janata Party-Nepal leaders charged with fraud on a development project have been sent to judicial custody following the court’s order.

RJP-N central members BP Yadav and Hari Narayan Mandal, accused of forming a fake consumers’ committee on a road project in Ward No 2 and 3, of Agnisair Krishnasawaran Rural Municipality, were sent to prison after the district court remanded them to judicial custody.

A total of five persons were detained in connection with the fraud case about a month ago. Three were freed on bail.

A single bench of district Judge Umesh Koirala had issued an order to send the duo to judicial custody following preliminary hearing on the case, today.

Of the three others, the court freed Senior Division Engineer Raj Kumar Goit at Infrastructure Development Division Office, Siraha on a bail amount of Rs 4 lakh.

Likewise, Dilip Kumar Das and Ramakanta Thakur each paid 2.5 lakh to walk out on bail.
