KANCHANPUR: Two sawmill operators have been arrested along with a huge quantity of lumber on Friday evening from Bhuda of Belauri Municipality-10 in Kanchanpur district.

Bhupendra Panta and Devraj Panta have been arrested by the regional special investigation RIT team and Area Police Office, Beldandi along with 61 pieces of lumber of Sisau tree. The two have been kept in police custody of the Area Forestry Office.

Mobid Ansari of Area Forestry Office said that 36 pieces of lumber were seized from the sawmill of Devraj while 25 pieces of were confiscated from the sawmill of Bhupendra.

Chief of District Forest Office, Kanchanpur, Shiva Prasad Sharma said that the two would be booked under the Forests Act.
