Two shot dead, six hurt in Kapilvastu, Birgunj

Kapilvastu/Birgunj, September 6:

An unidentified gang gunned down a local resident Riyaz Musalman in Chanai Bargadi Chowk of Kapilvastu district today.

According to deputy superintendent of police Mohan Joshi, a group of four persons, who came in two motorcycles, gunned down Musalman and injured Rajaram Bhoj.

The gang also took away an eyewitness, Tara KC, but released her after three hours, police said, adding that Bhoj was undergoing treatment in the Butwal-based Lumbini Zonal Hospital. No groups has claimed responsibility for the incident so far.

Meanwhile, one person was killed and five were injured in a clash with a gang in Udaypurghurmi VDC-2 of Parsa district last night.

The gang opened fire on locals and abducted Panna Lal Saraf, a local resident, the police said. Dev Mati (40), wife of Saraf, who was injured when the gang shot at her, died on the way to hospital, Inspector Mohan Pariyar said.

Panna Lal’s sons Dipendra and Sailendra were critically hurt, the police said, adding that the two have been taken to Kathmandu.

Other injured were Puja Saraf (13), Jitendra Saraf (19) and Rabindra Saraf (15). The police have arrested three suspects — Ambika Mukhiya Bin, Rameshwor Mukhiya Bin and an unidentified person.
