Students held a demonstration at Hetauda Campus today protesting against the abuse of female students by college staff at the campus yesterday.
Students took to demonstration from early morning today over the abuse of four girls who were at the college to take their exam of Bachelor's level yesterday.
As per sources, the girls in question had reached at the campus at noon yesterday for their exam.Yesterday was the first day of their exam.
"When we reached the campus, there were two guards at the gate.
They said they doubted that we were carrying cheats in our pockets, they took us to a room and got us to remove our pants, before telling us to slip our pants back on and sending us away," said one of the victims. As learnt, one of the girls was also told to take off her underpants, while the other was told to remove the safety pad she was wearing.
Later today, the demonstration ended following an agreement between the victim side and student organisations. As per the agreement, the two office assistants at the campus would be suspended effective from today. While the college has apologised for the incident, it has also expressed its commitment to continue the remaining of the scheduled exam in a pleasant environment.
To investigate the allegation of abuse and recommend action, a probe committee has also been formed with the mandate to submit its report within three days.
