Two swine flu deaths
KATHMANDU: Ministry of Health and Population on Monday confirmed that two persons have so far died in Nepal due to swine flu. A press statement issued by the ministry stated that a 31-year-old woman from Chitwan had succumbed to the disease on December 5, while a 29-year-old woman from Bhaktapur died from the deadly disease on December 24. The statement adds that Chitwan patient had been on a ventilator and was given intensive care for 25 days, while the Bhaktapur woman was given intensive care for 29 days. The statement added that the woman from Bhaktapur died due to multiple organ failure. The ministry stated that so far 150 cases of swine flu have been confirmed in Nepal, of which 106 are male.
