Thanks to hot weather conditions and lack of potable water, typhoid has been raging in Malayadanda VDC for the past two weeks. About 20 patients visit the sub-health post in the VDC every day for treatment. “With the increase in the number of patients, the health post is facing a shortage of drugs,” the chief of the health post, Chinkaji Rai, said. “Though dozens of people in every village development committee have been suffering from fever and diarrhoea, no deaths have been reported because we refer the patients to medical centres.”
