UAS co-founder Omar Hosari aims to be first Syrian to scale Island peak
LUKLA: Co-founder of the United Aviation Services Omar Hosari today arrived Lukla to attempt to climb the Island Peak in the Mt Everest region this spring season.
Being the one of the 100 best Arab Chief Executive Officers, Omar decided to take on 6,200 metres-peak as he plans to scale the world’s highest mountain anytime soon, according to Amrit Thapa, Managing Director at Epic Himalaya Treks. Omar arrived Kathmandu yesterday for a two-week long trip.
“I will embark on a trek to the Mt Everest base camp and attempt to climb the peak this season,” Omar, the owner of the leading international trip support services, said.
According to him, climbing Mt Everest has been a dream since his childhood as he always believes in hard work and perseverance. “That’s why I set my sights on scaling the world’s highest peak and to begin the same with climbing Island peak,” he added.
With obtaining all technical trainings that are necessary for climbing, Omar said that he was physically, mentally and psychologically prepared for the bid. “I have completed over six months of intensive endurance and resistance training for this bid,” he shared.
Omar, who has recently been named as one of the best 100 Arab CEOs at the Arab Best Awards 2018, hoped that his decision to climb mountains in Nepal would inspire others, especially the business community, to challenge and push themselves to the limit, overcoming enormous challenges.
The Dubai-based business leader also appealed all including his VIP clients around the world to visit Nepal to experience the diverse colors of flora and fauna of the Himalayan nation.
If everything goes according to his plan, Omar will be the first climber to scale the mountain from Syria, according to Thapa, who locally manages his expedition.
