UCPN-Maoist may quit govt, says Sharma
Kathmandu, March 26
Unified CPN-Maoist Spokesperson Dinanath Sharma today warned that his party may quit the CPN-UML government if it failed to rehabilitate the earthquake victims before monsoon.
Addressing a press briefing at the party headquarters, Sharma expressed concern about the inordinate delay in rehabilitation of the quake victims and reconstruction of damaged structures. He also urged the government to rebuild homes of the earthquake victims before monsoon.
Unified CPN-Maoist is a major coalition partner in the UML-led government with eight ministers led by Deputy Prime Minister and Energy Minister Top Bahadur Rayamajhi. “If the quake victims are compelled to live in temporary shelters, our party may quit the government,” said Sharma.
He also criticised the government for delaying reconstruction of infrastructures damaged in the earthquakes. He also flayed the government for failing to curb black-marketing of essential commodities. He, however, appreciated Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli for inking many important agreements with China.
