UDMF cadres seize NOC official at border, release after four hours

BIRGUNJ: The cadres and supporters of Madhesi Front who were staging a sit-in at the no man's land in Nepal-India border on Monday have detained the Regional Manager of Nepal Oil Corporation (NOC), Birgunj.

They, however, released him after four hours.

Ashok Sah, who was on his way to Raxaul, to meet the Indian Oil Corporation (IOC) officials regarding the matter of petroleum shortage and obstruction in supplies, was forced take part in the protest by the cadres of United Madhesi Democratic Front (UDMF), according to Federal Socialist Forum Nepal leader Pradeep Yadav.

Sah was not only made to sit in the protest for an hour but also forced to chant slogans against the government and major parties, a leader of UDMF said.
